On Thursday, July 11, 2024, students and lecturers of the Master of Phytopathology carried out activities together with the Rukun Lestari Young Farmers Group in Semuten Hamlet, Jatimulyo Village, Dlingo District, Bantul Regency, Yogyakarta.
In this activity, students, lecturers, and farmer groups cultivated shallots from True Shallot Seed (TSS) to produce healthy shallots using seeds that are free from pathogens, so that they can increase the quantity and quality of shallot products.
On April 29-30th 2024, Dr. Stephen Harper as project leader of ACIAR Project: Crop health and nutrient management of shallot-chilli-rice cropping systems in coastal Indonesia, had a visit to Indonesia for research meeting progress and field visit in Yogyakarta. Students in Master of Phytopathology are actively engaged in International research collaboration. The next day, Stephen, Lecturer, and Students involved visited UGM and BRIN research farm UGM dan BRIN.
This visit is a routine activity to ensure the progress of collaborative research process runs with good coordination between the parties involved.
On April 24, 2024, the Department of Plant Protection held a curriculum evaluation conference as part of ongoing efforts to improve the quality of education. Lecturers, staff, and other related parties involved in the department’s education process attended this event. This consignment is an integral part of the department continuous improvement cycle department’s continuous improvement cycle to ensure the curriculum presented remains relevant, responsive to the latest developments, and in line with the needs of industry and society.
Lab Practice of Bioinformatics and Plant Disease Diagnostics where student can learn to diagnose and identify pathogen in cellular level, molecular level, and bioinformatic analysis. It is a way to advance our understanding about pathogen causing plant disease.
On February 7th 2024, We’re warmly welcome 12 new graduate students in this even semester. With this latest addition, the total number of master’s students in Phytopathology for the 2023 academic year has reached an impressive count of 26 students.
