Nusa Lembongan, Bali – Students from the Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) Community Service Program (KKN-PPM), Team Nirwana Nusa Penida, have implemented a Downstream Integrated Farming Program to strengthen food security while promoting environmentally friendly agricultural practices among local communities in Nusa Lembongan, Nusa Penida District, Klungkung Regency, Bali. Conducted from June 24 to August 31, 2026, the program forms part of the broader KKN theme, “Strengthening Upstream-to-Downstream Waste Management through a Circular Economy Approach in Jungutbatu and Lembongan Villages.” The initiative was realized through the establishment of two integrated farming demonstration plots (demplots): one at Kebun Dharma, owned by Wahyu Yoga, and another at the Community Garden managed by Ketut Nusa. read more

The Department of Plant Protection, Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) welcomed a delegation from the Yogyakarta Agricultural Modernization Implementation Center (BRMP Yogyakarta) for a coordination meeting on a community empowerment program aimed at supporting farmer groups in Kalibawang, Kulon Progo Regency. The meeting was held on July 8, 2026, in the Meeting Room, A1 Building, First Floor, Faculty of Agriculture UGM.

The coordination meeting marked an important initial step in preparing a community service program designed to enhance farmers’ capacity through the application of science and technology in plant protection. By strengthening collaboration between academia and government institutions, the initiative seeks to ensure that research-based innovations developed at the university can be effectively implemented to address real challenges faced by local farming communities. read more

Magetan, June 19, 2026 – Researchers from the Nematology Sub-Laboratory, Department of Plant Pests and Diseases, Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM), conducted a field survey and sampling of root-knot nematodes (Meloidogyne spp.) in Magetan Regency, East Java, on Friday (June 19). The activity forms part of the PHC Nusantara Project and the Regular Fundamental Research (PFR) program funded through BIMA Kemdiktisaintek, supporting both fundamental research and international scientific collaboration in nematology and plant health. read more
