UGM Phytopathology Master’s student named Nurina Al Mira took part in the 2022 Student Exhange Program between Universitas Gadjah Mada and Yamagata University by Jasso Scholarship. Japan Student Services Organization (JASSO) offers scholarship for qualified international students who are accepted by a Japanese university under a student exchange agreement or other student exchange arrangement on a short-term basis for one year. On October 23rd, 2023, we were honored to host a guest lecture by Melina A. Markkanen from University of Helsinki, Finland. This is also a part of Bioinformatic and Plant Disease Diagnosis class in our magister program.

In this class, we discuss about Bioinformatics and AMR (Anti-Microbial Resistance) Metagenomics. Her insights opened new doors into the fascinating world of genomics and its role in addressing the critical issue of antimicrobial resistance.
