Master in Phytopathology Guest Lecture activity was held on Tuesday, August 29, 2023, in the Venture Room (AGLC-6th Floor) of the Faculty of Agriculture at 09.00-10.30 WIB. The presentation of Guest Lecture material on the topic ‘Inducing Disease Resistance by Abiotic Stress’ was delivered by Prof. Tatsuo Sato, the Director of the Center for International Field Agriculture Research and Education, College of Agriculture, Ibaraki University.

This event was carried out using a hybrid system, namely offline and online, via the Zoom meeting platform which was open to the public and attended by postgraduate students from the UGM Department of Pests and Plant Diseases, lecturers, and alumni. Guest lectures aim to expand students’ knowledge through direct experience carried out by resource persons. Guest lecture activities are very beneficial for students, lecturers, and the general public because they gain new insight into research carried out by researchers in their home countries so that they can serve as inspiration or examples for controlling plant diseases. Apart from that, guest lecture activities can also create relationships or collaboration between UGM and Ibaraki University.
