The Master in Phytopathology Program, Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM), officially welcomed new students for the 2024/2025 academic year odd semester. The event, held on 30th August 2025, introduced students to the academic environment, program structure, and facilities available within the faculty.
In her remarks, the Head of the Master in Phytopathology Program expressed appreciation and congratulations to the students for joining UGM. She emphasized that pursuing a master’s degree is not only about advancing knowledge in plant pathology but also about strengthening research skills, critical thinking, and professional competencies. “We hope the new students can actively engage in academic activities, research collaborations, and community service, which are the core values of Universitas Gadjah Mada,” she stated.
The orientation also provided an overview of the curriculum, research opportunities, laboratory resources, and academic support systems. Senior students and alumni shared their experiences, encouraging the newcomers to take advantage of interdisciplinary collaborations and international networking opportunities.
Through this welcoming activity, the Master in Phytopathology Program aims to build a supportive academic community where new students can thrive, contribute to scientific innovation, and play an active role in solving plant health challenges in agriculture both at national and global levels.
