The Department of Plant Protection (HPT), Universitas Gadjah Mada, will hold an international guest lecture to support learning in the Introduction to Agricultural Nematology course. The event will feature Dr. Mark G. Sterken, Associate Professor at the Laboratory of Nematology, Wageningen University and Research, as the main speaker. The lecture will be conducted online via Zoom Meeting on Tuesday, May 19, 2026, from 19:00 to 21:00 WIB. Participants will explore the topic Management of the Potato Cyst Nematode (Globodera spp.) in the Netherlands. This lecture is mandatory for students enrolled in the Agricultural Nematology course and is expected to provide comprehensive insights into potato cyst nematode management from an international perspective.
Through this activity, students will have the opportunity to learn directly from a global expert about effective and sustainable nematode management strategies. This aligns with efforts to enhance the quality of higher education and strengthen human resource capacity in the agricultural sector.
This guest lecture also supports the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 2 (Zero Hunger) and SDG 4 (Quality Education).
