JEMBER, 14 June 2026 — Students from the Plant Protection Study Program, Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM), won First Place in the AVESPRO (Annual Event of Plant Protection) 2026 Scientific Quiz Competition, organized by the Association of Plant Pests and Diseases Students (IMHPT) of Universitas Jember on Sunday (14/6). The competition was held at the Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Jember, and was attended by 14 teams from six universities.
The AVESPRO 2026 Scientific Quiz Competition provided an opportunity for university students to test their knowledge and ability to answer questions accurately and quickly. During the competition, each team competed to collect as many points as possible by providing correct answers and responding quickly to the questions presented.
UGM was represented by a team consisting of Galih Parama Sutejo as team leader, Oscar Destawira Patria Manggala Putra, and Moh. Iven Fajar Setyonugroho. The three students actively developed their academic abilities while participating in competitions related to the field of plant protection.
Through the competitive rounds, the UGM team successfully accumulated points and secured First Place in the AVESPRO 2026 Scientific Quiz Competition. The achievement demonstrated the students’ knowledge and their ability to think and respond quickly and accurately under competitive conditions.
The achievement of Galih, Oscar, and Iven represents another accomplishment for UGM Plant Protection students in developing their academic potential through national-level competitions. Beyond testing their knowledge, participation in the competition also provided valuable experience in teamwork, accuracy, and quick decision-making in a competitive setting.
The achievement is expected to encourage UGM Plant Protection students to continue expanding their knowledge and skills while actively participating in academic competitions at the national level. It also contributes to representing Universitas Gadjah Mada through student achievements in the field of plant protection.
